2008 Playoff Champs

Baseball Majors - City Carting Mets

The Mets finished the regular season tied for second place with a 10-5 record. After starting the season at 1-1, the Mets won seven games in a row and peaked during the playoffs. The Mets defeated the Red Sox in Game One, 5-4 and won Game Two in a decisive fashion, 15-0 setting up a final showdown with the first place Yankees. In a great game, the Mets rallied from an early 2-0 deficit to take the Championship, 6-3 in a total team effort.

Baseball AAA - ADP Service A's

Finishing the regular season in 5th place the ADP Service A’s poured it on strong in the final week of the season scoring 44 runs in 3 games.  The Championship game featured the 2nd place Dodgers against the 5th place A’s. The Dodgers had a 2-1 lead early but the A’s came roaring back with 4 runs in the 2nd inning, 3 runs in the 3rd (with a lead off with a solo homerun from Dan Harrington – his 2nd of the playoffs) and 5 runs in the 4th.  The Dodgers made a late run scoring 3 runs in each of the 3rd and 4th innings but the A’s bats and strong pitching preserved the victory.

Baseball AA - Jimmy’s Lawn Dodgers

After finishing the regular season 11 wins 0 loses and 2 ties, the AA Dodgers played the Yankees in a very exciting championship games. The Dodgers led by three runs until the top of the 6th inning when the Yankees came roaring back and scored four runs to take the lead. The Dodgers did not give up and in the bottom of the 6th the bats came alive and they scored two runs to win the game and the championship. Players on both teams fought very hard, played well and displayed good sportsmanship!! Congratulations to the Dodgers players and coaches who are listed below:
